Those of you who know me know that I always investigate and disclose every aspect of a property. I tell it like it is without sugar coating the facts because I don’t want you to make a mistake. For this reason I let you know the good, the bad and everything in between about each Muskoka waterfront property we discuss, even when it means crawling around brush and basements for three hours to find it. 

Honestly, Is Honesty a Lost Trait?

On both the buying and selling sides, my clients are appreciative of my honesty. At times, my honesty results in losing listings to other agents. That is the chance I take as I simply refuse to recommend a list price I know is unattainable in today’s market. Sadly, the seller that gets stars in their eyes because an agent has promised the moon ends up losing money. For more on this see: Am I Priced to Sell.

I’m going to let you in on a saying amongst most agents. It is: List to Exist. With an overabundance of agents now in the real estate business many will take a listing at almost any price just so they have something to advertise in an attempt to attract new clients. Then they will spend the majority of their time and yours trying to get your list price down to where it should have been in the first place.

Real estate can be a frustrating business, especially when I see people being “led down the garden path”. Alternately it is very rewarding when buyers and sellers know they can and, do count on my expertise. It gives me great pleasure to negotiate a fair deal for all my clients.

Buyers are looking for a fair price and sellers want the most they can net from their treasured family cottage.

I educate my buyers on all aspects of the Muskoka market and each available property that meets the majority of their criteria. Sometimes we spend years waiting for the perfect waterfront property to come to market. My sellers know they can count of me to advise them of market conditions and know I will work diligently for them.
