Clear Lake & Prime Vacant Land Offering

Clear Lake is a spectacular alternative to the Big Three; Lakes Muskoka, Rosseau and Joseph. Offering miles of motorized boating, Clear connects to Big Whitefish and Little Whitefish lakes. Cottagers enjoy wakeboarding, water-skiing, tubing and fishing. Due to the crystal-clear lake water, it is a favorite for swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving.

Why is Clear Lake so clear? 45,000 years ago, Clear Lake was formed by a bottom-dragging, retreating and melting glacier. Such glaciers formed lakes by cutting holes in loose soil or soft bedrock, depositing material, or leaving buried chunks of ice. These chunks of ice then melted to leave lake basins.

THREE LAKE FACTS:

CLEAR LAKE

BIG WHITEFISH

LITTLE WHITEFISH

Comparing the water clarity to Lake Muskoka at 3.5 metres, Lake Rosseau at 5.4 m and even Lake Joseph at 6.7 m; Clear Lake is aptly named for to its clarity of 7.0 m surpassed only by Skeleton Lake at 9.1 metres. (resources provided by www.muskokawaterweb.ca)

At times I feel the outer lakes get overlooked, yet there are definite advantages to owning property on a “perimeter” lake. These include lower property taxes and less hustle and bustle.

Not to be confused with the other “Clear Lakes” of Muskoka and Ontario. This Clear Lake is located in the Township of Seguin. The closest town is Parry Sound where you will find many amenities, dining and entertainment options. The popular Friday morning Farmer’s Market and Crossroads Restaurant in the Village of Rosseau is just 15 minutes via car.

Clear Lake, Big Whitefish and Little Whitefish residents and cottage owners care about the environment and health of the lake. There is a Rate Payers Association with members “Preserving and enhancing both the scenic value and physical quality of our lakes.”

There is an abundance of wildlife in and around Clear, Big Whitefish and Little Whitefish lake. It is a popular hot spot for fishing Lake Trout, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, Yellow Perch, Lake Whitefish and Rainbow Smelt.
